  170. The following information outlines the major changes in the 
  171. most recent versions of Plug-In for Windows and is intended 
  172. for those who are already familiar with the feature set of 
  173. Plug-In V2.

  175.   Operational under Windows 95 as well as Windows 3.1.

  177.   A Restrictions section was added for corporate users. 
  178. System Administrators can prevent users from modifying the 
  179. QuickRun menu, Resource Alerts, and Sounds Settings, etc.

  181.   Exclude dialogs allow you to easily exclude the title bar 
  182. displays and/or Plug-In sounds from any specified 
  183. applications.

  185.   An International Settings Dialog gives control over some 
  186. of the more visible text strings used by Plug-In. In addition 
  187. to being of value to our international users, this dialog can 
  188. be used to further customize Plug-In to individual tastes. For 
  189. example, one might wish to change the default 3-character 
  190. month strings to their full names.

  192.   Constant availability of Plug-InÆs Control Center and 
  193. QuickRun menu from a Taskbar Notification Area Icon.

  195.   Plug-In now has the ability to function as the Windows 
  196. Shell under Windows 3.1 (i.e., replace Program Manager or 
  197. other third-party shells). This feature will appeal to those 
  198. who desire the ultimate in uncluttered desktops. It also is 
  199. great when using large desktops (i.e., memory and resource 
  200. hogs), because you can easily unload the desktop if you 
  201. temporarily need the extra memory and/or resources.

  203.   In conjunction with allowing Plug-In to function as a shell, 
  204. we now allow Program Manager to be run at any time and 
  205. still have all the added Plug-In functionality.  So, if you use 
  206. Plug-In as your shell, you can run Program Manager as you 
  207. need it, and shut it down when you don't.

  209.   Plug-In now supports a separate data directory, instead of 
  210. forcing its data files to be located in the Windows directory.  
  211. In addition to making it easier to manage these files, this also 
  212. allows you to easily backup your valuable Plug-In data.  
  213. Note:  The default location for this directory is 
  214. PLUGDATA in your Plug-In home directory (it will be in 
  215. the Windows directory if you are running Plug-In from a 
  216. network drive).

  219. browsing and redoing the drive search when it fails to find 
  220. any install programs.
